Detailed information on the Wilmington Notch Campground is online at ReserveAmerica.

The campground (Rt. 86, Wilmington NY) allows two vehicles and two tents per site, so you can gang up and share campsites it you want to go cheap. The campground has indoor plumbing (including free showers), RV hookups, and potable water. Most importantly, this campground has the wonderful, soothing music of the Ausable as it loses gradient in the background. As with all NYS campgrounds, you can reserve by calling (800) 456-2267 or use the ReserveAmerica online reservation system.

Note: They changed their reservation policy in 2006, you must now reserve a specific site instead of just making a reservation and choosing your site when you arrive. When you make your reservation, aim for a site at the far end of the campground, approximately between sites 10 and 36. Sometime in mid-May I'll ask for a list of known reservees, and will forward that list to the campground staff so they know who's with us and who isn't. They'll do their best to fine-tune the site reservations for our convenience within the parameters of their campground policies.
