
I happened to be in town that weekend and as a guest of the Colonel attended the picnic. Little did I know that I would come away with a reputation for being blind. I had been driving a lot and my eyes were sore and tired, so I wore my shades while tying #24 olive parachutes, even when it was overcast and dark outside. Unknown to me, Ben was going around telling people I was blind and tied flies by feel...
